I found this chunk of wood on my morning walk.
Attacked by bores and woodpecker,
half-buried in dirt beside the road,
it seemed a token.
Possibly a reminder of life and resilience
of beauty with age.
Perhaps an image of
some ancient god.
Or, a meditation stone
from some Zen garden.
It seems an ideal home for dragons.
