Did a dinosaur once look at the sunrise and dream of the future? Did it feel itself a king? An emotive animal or an eating machine? A dominant species, grown from the turbulent sea and fiery earth, why should it not live forever?

I think (most of the time) that we have always been dominant and will always be. But, what is human in the future? Will hubris save the story-teller? Do we commit the unwilling suicide or suffer contact with a space-rock?
