I think it is possible to at least respect them. Much as physical scars are evidence of having lived, our emotional/spiritual scars (beasts) are there to remind us that we have felt, cared, and tried. Sometimes we have to dig deep to learn from them and possibly befriend them and the understanding they can bring.

As for what I believe in:
I would have to say LIFE. It is the greatest mystery and conundrum which makes itself a source of love and adventure.
