Where would we be?
‘There’s no sex in your violence!’
sang Bush in ‘Everything Zen’.
If life was easy, I could sit around
in comfort and travel as I wished.
I probably wouldn’t have anything to write.
I would not have to search for beauty
and beauty would become mundane.
What inspiration in the flight of a bird
if there is nothing more to hope for?
If I lived in a field of flowers
would I care about butterflies?
Art may depend on the struggle.
Love depends on diversity.
Life is ‘Struggle’.
But sometimes overwhelming.
Creation is growth is a reach
into the unknown.
The unknown is inspiring
and can be deadly.
Rain can feed a plant
or wash away a crop.
Struggle is about possibilities.
We dream about good possibilities
and have nightmares about bad ones.
Struggle is sexy and beautiful.
Art has a violent element
when we lay down a new idea
before other souls.
Art means to
expand a viewpoint or
I write to express.
I write to change.
I write to fix.
Writing is not about comfort.
I write to struggle
and, for me, it is beautiful.
