Wabi-Sabi Sushi

stop thinking
stop knowing
observe the transience
of the moment

like a photograph
for souls
emotions unknown

visited by eagles
ancient pine
clings to a cliff

alone
aged
desolate
beauty
in passing
perfection
unknown

They are often ‘seasoned’…

three days past solstice
cool June morning
even the world changes

But seldom ‘spiced’…

the smile of a young woman
reminds me of earlier days

I do not count
syllables
words
or lines.
Only that there is a feeling,
fleeting though it may be.

Thanks to Rusty Alderson for the prompt.
