Write For The Adventure!
Exploring with the written word
Why and How Do You Write? prompt
from Øivind H. Solheim
I write to explore the universe
or possibly the multiverse
from the inside, the outside and sideways.
I look for the nuances:
Philosophical
Psychological
Beauty
and Feeling.
If something catches the eye
of body or mind
Like a crow seeing a sparkle in the weeds
or a dog seeing a squirrel in the forest
I am curious.
I love to chase down,
examine, and grok
and eventually, be with
the treasure that I have found.
How do I write?
Sometimes like struggling to climb a mountain
to see the other side and the views it offers.
Or jumping in a freefall dive.
Sometimes like diving into the caves of my soul
to find unremembered things and become more whole.
Often, it is assembling pieces in
a part of the puzzle, that is my life.
In writing, I chronical the adventure
but the chronicling is part and parcel
of the adventure.
Writing and publishing are a frightening and amorous connection to life. It is all of this and more.
